Today came with the special light of November when at this latitude (49 N) the sun is often low and the cloud formations pick up delicate colouring that is reflected in the water. The four photos below try to capture some of this special time. This is when the trumpeter swans return from Alaska to spend the winter on the estuary.
Sometimes a heron can be spotted from the riverway where I took these photos in the late afternoon - a pleasant 7 degrees for my walk.
In the final image, a distant group of swans is heading for the estuary.
