Despite wind and afternoon rain, I had a wonderful time on Westray Island with Westraak Tours run by Andy and Karen. Westray sits on the northwest corner of the Orkney Islands where it is exposed to the worst that the North Atlantic can offer. It is reached by ferry from Kirkwall - about 1.5 hours. You can also fly there. Do go if you have the opportunity.
Beautiful images. You have caught the magic of the area. I was there in 1952, has not changed!, Well done.
We really enjoyed your beautiful pictures, they capture some of the essence of the isle even if they can't convey how cold it was that day! Just as a note for those who haven't visited Westray, not all the houses are ruins! We love the Scaun pictures (6 & 7) and the dirty bellied fulmar (18). Thanks for posting them.
